It is usually against a forum's policy (and can be considered spam)  for people to promote their websites in forums. But you can join forums, create a profile that includes your website - and if you participate in forum discussions your website address might show up in your signature (if the forum allows that).

So the only way to use a forum to "promote" your site is to become a contributor and take part in discussions and become someone who adds value to the forum.

As far as which forums you might do this with, you could look up all the different software that you display on your site and find forums people are asking questions about software downloads for those products.

One of the best software download sites (CNET) has a forum: http://forums.cnet.com/digital-media-and-design-forums/?tag=contentMain;contentBody

if you look on the page on the left, they list all kinds of forums for you to look into.

This is from 2012 - I should have gotten points back then. I had MANY answers that never got me points - and the were good ones. Many got deleted due to moderators never keeping up. This is the reason I no longer participate in answering questions.... sorry to say....
