"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Not sure if you are trying to create the website your self, or how proficient you are.  But here is a guide to create a simple password protected site using asp.configuration.

it just requires a few lines of code in your web.config file and storing your protected pages in a protected file.  Bigest hassle is the permissions in your mysql or sql server to make this work from web.  But it is not too hard to figure out.

Generally this is done using security facilities of the web server.  What server are you using?

Here is an example using Apache:

Thanks, I don't write web code. Let me see if my programmer is fine with this. The web page is done. Just need to put it on godaddy in a protected space using my sql.
