Access 2003: MailMerge Automation (question 4) data source

Hi EE,

don't know how this happened, but Word opens the template asking me to confirm
its data source

i think this happens after i ran the merge using vba

questions:

a) is the data now "built into" the document,
B)    if yes, i would not want to post a document with live data to EE,
   so how could i remove the data source from the word doc

       what i did for now was copy and paste the doc to a new doc without running
               the merge on the new doc, so as to upload the new doc to EE for a question

That is normal operation when opening a mail merge main document. If you want to to have the datasource remembered, you will need to patch the registry to prevent the question - it's for security - from disrupting the automation:

If you don't need to remember the datasource between sessions, you turn the document back into an ordinary document, either from the mail merge toolbar, or with VBA:

 wordDoc.MailMerge.MainDocumentType = wdNotAMergeDocument
