Prevent Obsolete Items appearing<br />

We have a custom column called Status and the choices are Current and Obsolete.<br />

When an item is no longer current, they are obviously modified to be obsolete. &nbsp;The users would like to ensure that the obsolete items does not appear when searching for specific items within their site. <br />

eg. &nbsp;<a href="http://intranet/sites/faq" rel="ugc">http://intranet/sites/faq</a><br />

What is the best way, without deleting the obsolete items, to only allow current items to appear in the search results without the user having to add exclusion operators like &quot;-&quot; before the term.<br />
