Cannot get Skype to log in

Hello Experts - one laptop is affected by this problem. Skype will not log in and the white circle spins forever.

Laptop is Windows 7 Pro. Antivirus in SEP 12.01. Have added exception for Skype.exe.
Disabling antivirus makes no difference.

Tried different Skype accounts and none work. Have checked u/p on another computer.

Have removed Skype manually from registry.

Noticed that Skype can't be killed in Task Manager except by restarting laptop.

Anything else we can try ?

The problem turned out to be Symantec Endpoint 12.01

Could not get Skype to work under any circumstances until we uninstalled the product.

there could be a problem with your installer(.exe).. in which case u can download the latest one from :-

otherwise there may b a problem with your windows which will b very difficult 2 analyse...
Have you checked if your proxy is blocking traffic coming from Skype ?
