Word 2010 - headers & footers "cannot open that document template"...

Hi All
Hopefully will get some help on this. When I open up a new document in Word and go to add a header or footer I get the following message " Word cannot open this document template" with the path underneath. However if I persist, it does open up...it's an annoyance more than anything but would like to get it sorted...thank you!

Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

I have not seen this behavior.   Can you provide more detail?   Does the path shown mean anything to you?   Is it a template folder location?   Do you have custom templates installed?
The attached screenshot shows where Word stores some file locations.  Is your path one of these?
Is the path a network share?  Is there a delay when using Windows Explorer to open that location?  If you open the location with Windows Explorer (or My Computer) before you try to insert a header/footer, does the delay go away?

@DoDahD (great name by the way :-) Thanks for checking this out for me. Actually I solved it myself. I had installed an Avery Template which screwed up my startup as well . I removed the "ghost" elements from the Building Blocks folder and now it's working fine. But
