if you arrange private loan and take cash to the dealer's place (as against a check from the bank etc), would they give a better cut on the final price, because they know they got the deal in cash? or would it not make a difference?

I've always heard you do your homework ahead of time and know exactly what you want to pay for the car.

Go in with a Cashiers Check for that amount so you can't be haggled with. Tell them to make taxes, fees, and everything come to the amount in the check because that is what you are giving them and nothing more.

Go in 30 minutes before they close and they will want to make a deal.

If they don't do what you want, walk out and the next day try another dealer.
