How to customise Citrix WebInterface 5.4

Hello there,

I am trying to customise Citrix WebInterface 5.4, to not to allow Settings tab to appear when users log into Citrix Web Interface.

But when I browsed to C:\inetpub\wwwroot\Citrix\XenApp\conf (not sure if I have selected the coorect Conf file as there are External/Mobile/PNAgent/XenApp) and make changes in WebInterface.conf file to AllowCustomizeSettings=Off and save the changes, I am getting "Access denied" message.

I have attached the screenshot for reference.

Please advise.

Thanks and Regards.

That sounds like a straightforward permissions issue, or a timing issue with the file being locked. (If you could post the exact error message, it would help).

But, for permissions, check the permissions of the conf file and verify that you have permissions to change the file.  Also check for the Read-only attribute, if it is there, clear it.

If the file indicates it is locked, you can potentially just shut the site down and adjust the file, and then bring it back up, or make a copy and adjust it, and then shut the site down, rename/copy your updated file and restart.   I do not believe this is the case though, more likely it is a permissions issue.

Problem fixed by disabling UAC (user access control) in WI server. I could then edit webinterface.conf without any error msg.
