Telnet for Windows CE 5

Hello, I'm looking for a decent telnet app that will run on Windows CE handheld computer (Honeywell barcode scanner type device).

I tried PocketPutty but the characters are not compatible with the server based telnet application that I need to connect to. I think VT100 will work. I can't seem to find one that will run on my device.

Everytime I try to run anything I download it says it's not a valid Windows CE application.

Can anyone help?

Hello

the message "...not a valid Windows CE application" is also generated, if the exe file is missing a runtime library (a DLL). I use the free PEInfo of SK-Tools (see bottom of http://s-k-tools.com/index.html?m_util.html) to verify, if this is the case.

But the mesage will also come for other reasons, like the required OS level is not available. What Windows CE version is running on the device? Which is the exact model code?

The msg will also generated, if the app is written for PocketPC and requires aygshell.dll.

Most vendors of such ruggedized devices oofer there own Terminal Emulation applications. Intermec offers ITE, Motorola/Symbol have there own offer.

The there are general vendors of TE apps, like Naurtech TE.

But puTTY is already a good choice for a free TE on Windows CE. If you can specify the host emulation and chararcter set needed, we will possible get puTTY to run as you need.

I'm using a honeywell Dolphin 6500. Windows CE 5.0.

I've tried using PocketPutty and it works, but when I try to use the arrows keys or TAB I get "^[[B" and "^I" respectively.

I was trying to find how I can specify the TERM with PocketPutty but I can't find any nformation on settings or parameters.

I'm very frustrated because I bought this expensive handhled computer and it can't do simple telnet. I need it for our ERP application.

Thanks for you help!

I was able to find a client from a manufacturer that works because I looked into josef's suggestion that Honeywell may have a client. they don't , but there was a link to another company.
