Migration Enterprise Vault 8 to Enterprise Vault 9

Hello Everybody

We have an existing Exchange 2003 with Enterprise Vault 8 environment.  I prepared a new environment in the same network with Exchange 2010 and Enterprise Vault 9.  Exchange 2003 is working fine with Exchange 2010.

Now I need to move / migrate / transform the archives based on the EV 8 infrastructure to the EV 9 infrastructure.

Any suggestions about best practise or howto?

Thanks!

If you're using Discovery Accelerator it can get a little tricky. If not it's  a straight upgrade from EV8 to EV9 then add pre-requistes for Exchange (permissions, turn of throttling, etc..)

I would actually recommend going to EV 10, the new 64 bit indexing is much better.  For this you would need to go from EV8 to EV9 then to EV10.  The trick is that you need to be on Winodws 2008 R2 going forward.

Also keep in mind that if you'll be using Outlook 2010 you'll need to use the HTTP only add-in, they don't have a DCOM add-in for it.
