Volume Shadow Copy Failing

Just tried to revert a drive with VSS and it errored.

"Failed to initiate revert of volume"

Checked the event logs and we had the below at each creation point

Have attached Application event log from VSS schedule point. +/- ten mins
Have had to change the file type to .txt, you will need to edit the extention to .evtx

Anyone any ideas?

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

1) Run chkdsk /r on your volumes.

2) make sure there are no hardware issues  ( RAM, CPU, HD, controller )

3) make sure you have a full physical backup, in case some HW is dying

4) reboot the server and try a manual backup

I hope this helps !
