Sudden issue launching Citrix session

A user in my company is unable to run launch.ica today, but could yesterday. He has a new HP laptop, windows 7 64 bit. IE 9.0.8112.16421. Citrix receiver 3.1 has been newly loaded today.

In IE the choice to run or save launch.ica appears, run or "save and run" just result in a long pause, save does save the launch.ica file. it does not run from the saved location.
Have tried Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox too without success.

In Safety - Active X filtering is disabled
In the registry HK_CLASSES_ROOT\PROTOCOLS|Filter\application/x-ica has been renamed to disable the mime filter
Do Not save encrypted pages to disk is NOT selected in Internet Options

Can you help please?

It was being launched from the Citrix launcher the whole time. After 4.5 hours of being connected to the users laptop with GoTo Assist and lots of tests away from the machine it seemed to be a problem with IE9. Uninstalled IE9, was unable to install IE8, so tried Google Chrome, no joy, then Mozilla Firefox. This last worked, so the user has been left working with Firefox until he is next in the office and I can check it out further.

You should be seeing a citrix launcher somewhere in the tray or o the desktop . Try launching it from there and see what msgs you see
