NDR message to excess message size

Hi ,

I have two hub transport server & I am getting NDR message for Excess size limit from one of the Server, attached below error message

Final-Recipient: rfc822;padas6@abc.com
Action: failed
Status: 5.0.0 (permanent failure)
Remote-MTA: dns; [10.100.23.51]
Diagnostic-Code: smtp; 5.1.0 - Unknown address error 552-'5.3.4 Message size exceeds fixed maximum message size' (delivery attempts: 0)

I have checked all the messgae size setting in global & receive connector settings.

Please help us to reolve the issue.

Have you increased the message header size as well?

Set-ReceiveConnector MaxHeaderSize Exchange 2007 RTM and Exchange 2007 SP1 64 KB

You may have to increase the message header size limit too. This was happening to a client of mine and this resolved their issue

Hi Geodash,

Soory for delay response.

I have check both of my Hub Transport Server & it is defined message header size 64KB in both the Server, although I have increase it 200KB for my problemtic node.

Let see the effect tomorrow.

only for the Default Receive connector.

Hi

Even after change the message header size form 64 to 200 KB same result.

The following message to <padas6@abc.com> was undeliverable.
The reason for the problem:
5.1.0 - Unknown address error 552-'5.3.4 Message size exceeds fixed maximum message size'

did you restart the transport service?

The transport Service was off & start the Service after configuration changes.

Do I restsrt once again.

I know when i changed the settings, it was not instant. But I do not remember if I restarted the exchange services or bounced the server.

I have restsrted the Services & tested two mails , one is through & another is blocked, may be through one is passing through the another server or not.

NDR message is shows the faulty Server only.
