Hi folks, I need to retrieve from a text field 11 characters beggining for the 32nd character typed into the field, but I'm stomped on how to do it, I need it to be done when the form is submited since the value retrieved must be recorded into the database with the rest of the values in the form.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Cheers!

Try:

$substring = substr($inputdata, 32, 11);

You may need to adjust the number a bit (plus or minus 1 to get the exact section you want.
