Cisco 7936 keeps saying "Cannot Contact TFTP server"

I just got a used Cisco 7936 we're trying to add to our environment here.  I've configured it in Callmanager but when I try to hook it up to the network it boots then goes back and forth between displaying it's old IP config and saying "Cannot contact the TFTP server".  I would like to reset it but you can't get into any of the menus because it just keeps cycling back and forth between the IP and the error message, and then reboots every few minutes.  Anyone have an idea how to get this to reset?

To perform a factory reset on a Cisco 7936:

Power the ip phone off and on.

During the reboot, press and hold the hash key (#) during the entire reboot.  

The phone will display "Reset key sequence detected".  

Enter 123456789*0#, followed by 2 to erase the entire config.

Ended up returning the device and getting a replacement.

Device was useless without getting on the original VLAN or a VLAN with the same IP structure.
