Determine the IP numbers of both machines, and ping each from the other. If they are not working, you have a network problem rather than a sharing or permissions problem.

Installed my first Mac server running Lion. I have a script that runs a on Windows server 2003 R2 box that needs access to the share on the mac server. <br />

Cant seem to connect. I went into System Prefs and into Sharing and File Sharing and made sure that &quot;Share Files and Folders Using SMB&quot; was checked. still cannot connect.<br />

When I try to connect I get "\\192.x.x.x "An unexpected network error occurred"
