Editing Website Template

I purchased a video script website template. It is designed for adult videos but I am running a non-adult website and need to remove all references(words/ text) from the template.

I found some suggestion on how to do this but i dont fully understand how to implement and was hoping for  little more detailed step by step suggestions.

I have access to dreamweaver and text editors
Some suggestion i have seen include

"Edit all templates (.tpl) files and /include/config.seo.php file. "
"Use the free program total commander and search and change the text you want. For ex you can search all files in website script/template at once looking for the word @@@@. It will find it and you can replace it."

TIA

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Total_Commander -- appears to be a text editor, that does the same sort of thing as Notepad, but with more flexibility and power.

The suggestions you're seeing seem to point you in the direction of editing all of the scripts to remove offending words.  That is a suggestion that makes sense to me, and I would try it to see how it works out.  Back everything up, make a fresh install in a test bed, and try the "global replacement" strategy.

I found TC pretty useless(wasnt smart enought to figure it out) but I did stumble across Notepad++. And I was susccessfully able to make global edits.

thanks
