Hi,

We are looking at SAN Certificates for Exchange 2010.

We will be purchasing 5 names for the SAN certificate.

Can I use the same SAN certificate in all of my Exchange servers? I can generate a cert request from one of the Exchange servers get the CRL and complete the cert request. Then import the cert on all my CAS/HT servers.

Does that make sense?

Your question makes sense. You will use one server to create the certificate signing request (CSR), and the certificate authority (CA) you purchase the cert from will give you a method for specifying the additional SA names that will be included with the cert.

Once you have completed the full process for receiving and completing the CSR from the CA, you can export the certificate for transfer to the other hosts.

You must be certain to export the cert WITH the private key. Windows will require a password for that export, in order to protect the private key. Just make sure you use one that you can readily retype. You won't need to remember the password for long; it's only used to protect the export file, not the cert itself once the thing has been imported.
