Files very slow or unresponsive after migration
Just had a very successful migration from SBS 2003 to SBS 2011. However, clients are complaining that takes a very long time to open up, modify and close shared files on server, even non-responsive at times. I log in with a network admin account and everything is lightning fast... so it is a permission issue.
I followed instructions and used robocopy with correct switches and files were copied over with correct permissions. But in order to see users in the SBS console, I had to change all their roles to "Standard" user role. I believe that caused the problem. I tried to test one folder and reapply a user's permissions on it and no change occurred.
How can I correct this? Thx...

Do you have an AV solution on the server which is doing real time scanning?
probably you have default wait and retry switch.
Set both to zero.
Can you provide your robocopy script
Set both to zero.
Can you provide your robocopy script
ASKER
No there is no AV installed on server yet...
The script is the one recommended by technet...
Robocopy \\<SourceServerName>\Users \\<DestinationServerName>\ UserShares /E /COPY:DATSOU /R:10 /LOG:C:\Copyresults.txt
from migration guide
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/gg563801.aspx
what do you mean by "have default wait and retry switch"?
