I am new to Mac and have used PGP in the past to secure my email traffic.  Is there any built-in encryption for communication between MacBook Pro's which via Internet?

Thanks.

The same applies, you can get a personal certificate that will be used to secure email exchanges using s/mime encryption which can be used cross platform and without the need to install pgp.
