How to replace JournalPrint in Windows 7

I am receiving the follow errors in my Event Viewer but I do not know how to resolve it as it does not appear to be related to an installed printer but Windows own internal system.

Windows could not load print processor JournalPrint because EnumDatatypes failed. Error code 126. Module: jnwppr.dll. Please obtain and install a new version of the driver from the manufacturer (if available), or choose an alternate driver that works with this print device.

This is showing up with Event ID: 365

I am also receiving the following error which appears to be related:

Windows could not initialize printer Journal Note Writer because the print processor JournalPrint could not be found. Please obtain and install a new version of the driver from the manufacturer (if available), or choose an alternate driver that works with this print device.

The above is showing up as an Event ID: 367

And, finally, I think this too is related:

The print spooler failed to load a plug-in module jnwmon.dll, error code 0x7e. See the event user data for context information.

This is showing up as an Event ID: 888

Help will be greatly appreciated.

There are a number of articles about this. The following article is decent and it suggests that some DLL's are missing

http://www.instant-registry-fixes.org/how-to-fix-error-126/

Another article suggested re-installing printer drivers.

So two thoughts:

(1) Open an admin prompt and run System File Checker. SFC /SCANNOW and allow to complete. Restart. Run SFC again if errors were not corrected.

(2) It might be worthwhile (reflecting on your earlier post) to remove all the print drivers you can (no longer using the printers) and then remove the working printer and its driver, restart and reinstall them.

As I recall from the earlier post, this machine has been in service for a while, been on a domain, then off the domain, and had many different printers. Accordingly it may be time to consider a fresh install of Windows to get long term stability.

I am running the scan now process. (sending this from an iPad in the interim).  The reloading of windows is not a viable option for me at this time.  I also want to clarify that the error does not seem to me to be related to any particular printer, but rather Windows own journaling process, for whatever use to me is unknown.

I will let you know what happens with the scan.

The scan came back 100% clean.  No integrity problems were found.

The following tutorial addresses using and installing Windows Journal. There is an install point part way down the article says you should follow. Read through one and then follow the steps.

Please let us know if that accomplishes anything.

Interesting.  I came across the same article much earlier.   Somehow that got me on track to a place that recommended that I go into the control panel, then program and features, and then click on Turn Windows features on or off.

That is where I found that the box for Tablet PC Components was unchecked.   Once I checked it, after reboot, Windows Journal came right up in the start menu!  I later checked the event viewer and all related problems for the journal had been resolved.

So I would say that you had me once again heading in the right direction and another problem resolved :).

Now I am on to yet another adventure...getting my internet working again in Virtual XP.  Probably had something to do with my having played around with installing VirtualBox.  I'll tell that story in the next post.

Thanks again.  I'll click on the accepted solution for you now.
