Aloha!

I recently implemented parental controls on an account on my imac - and have reset safari, cleared everything I could find to clear within Safari - and yet going to almost any web page that I usually go to asks me if I wnat to "add the web site ad.double-click.net" - I do not want to add, but don't want to have to answer the question at every site!  I even tried to block the url, ran spyware cleanup applications, downloaded and ran a different browser; but the behavior remains the same (even on the new browser).  Do I need to do something drastic?

You have discovered the problem with "parental controls".  They nag the parents to death. "ad.double-click.net" is an advertising site, Google owns it now.  Doesn't mean it is 'safe' though.  Ad-Block may help.  http://adblockplus.org/en/   And for Safari: http://safariadblock.com/
