Share Access
We are experiencing an intermittent issue with one of our windows 2008 file server. shares from the file server gets inaccessible from any of our desktop clients - Windows XP SP2- while at the same time its possible to access the shares from other Servers which are windows 2008 or windows 2008 R2. Same time when the issue occurs we are able to RDP the file server and cannot find any resource issues or errors in the server.
Client side error says Network Error - Windows cannot access \\server.
once we restart the server issue goes away for couple of days or sometimes a week. Any suggetions.

Can you check if you have IPV6 enabled on the server. if yes can you disable it unless you have IPV6 implemented.

Thanks for the reply. IPV6 is disabled on the server. Its actually disabled via GPO and also verified manually now.
