You don't "need it" per se unless you're experiencing any number of issues. It can certainly help with things like profile growth, logon speeds but adds an additional layer of management complexity.

Here's a nice overview of its features:

Citrix recommendations are:

First, try mandatory profiles.  If that doesn't fill your needs, then
Second, try standard Microsoft Roaming Profiles.  If that still fill your needs, then
Third, try Citrix Profile Management.  If that still doesn't fill your needs, then
Try any of the plethora of 3rd party profile products on the market.

AppSense
LiquidWare Labs
Tricerat
Immidio
Sepago
Desktop Authority
etc etc etc

If I remember correctly, at BriForum 2011 in Chicago, there were at LEAST 17 vendors with product offerings centered on managing user profiles/user environment/user experience.

Roaming profiles can work if your environment is simple and your LAN/WAN connections are very stable and high speed AND the server(s) used to store the profiles is VERY reliable, accessible and has high-speed storage.  Otherwise you are just asking for trouble.

Most of the other 3rd party products will use a SQL Server database to store everything getting away from the non-scalable Windows file system.

So in a normal environmnet we do not need to use Profile management from citrix, that sounds great. we  will go for that and see what happens , In case we need it later we can always Install that.

One Last question: Do we have to install profile managemnet on all the client machines. Or only on the server that will server the applications.
