Setting up a Virtual Directory Website to use HTTPS in IIS

Hi Team,

I currently have a website created in IIS, lets say its www.mycomany.com. This website is accesible through HTTP or HTTPS. Under this website I have a virtual directory created that in order for people to access it they have to go to www.mycompnay.com/VD. My situation is that I need this VD virtual website to only be accessed using HTTPS not HTTP. Would this be possible and if so how can I configure it. I'm using IIS 5.

Thank you

In IIS manager, go to properties on the virtual directory. On the Directory Security tab, under Secure Communications, click on edit. Check the box to require secure channel. All of this assumes you have already installed the certificate.

Are you really using IIS 5? That's Windows 2000, which now has many unpatched security holes since Microsoft stopped producing fixes in 2010.
