mailbox store problem in sbs2003

sbs2003, mailbox store is dismounting every now and then, most clients don't appear to connect to exchange. The ones who can, get undeliverable's when trying to send.

under mailbox store in system manager, there are no folders at all. Normally i would expect to see at least Logons and Mailboxes. But these do not appear.

I am assuming some sort of corrupted store?

I often forget how silly exchange 2003 is! Added the value in. Doing another reboot of the server.

an initial test (before this reboot, just restarting the MSexchange IS service) had it still disconnecting when trying to send. also the logons folder under the Mailbox Store did not show up.

they are all saying trying to connect now, finishing with disconnected.

on the clients sorry
Okay - are all the Microsoft Exchange Services that are set to Automatic started and if so, is the mailstore mounted in Exchange System Manager?

Did you let the wizard change your settings, or did you do it manually?

all services started, mailbox store mounted

which wizard are you talking about? everything so far is either command line, registry or management console . . . ?
The link I posted has a couple of MS Wizards to complete the changes for you.

Okay - if all is started on the server - the clients should be connected.  Can you close and re-open a client's Outlook (after a two minute wait to make sure it closes properly) please.

sorry, i always go with manually changing with server changes . . not that I don't trust the Microsoft FixIt . . . :p
:0 - Perish the thought!

Any better on the clients yet?

nope, still showing as trying to connect, or disconnected
Can you re-run the Connect to the Internet Wizard again please - change nothing and let it complete, then see how things are.

Luckily it is an office which doesn't rely on its email!

hmm bit of an issue in that the server doesnt have server management in administrative tools. any way to get server management back or is there another way to run CEICW?

did find a guide to get server management back, but it only worked with the disc . . .
