Have a 2008 r2 server that the 120 day trial Remote Desktop license has expired on.  It was my understanding that you could get 1 (or 2) admin connection(s) with or without a license.  This license expired over the weekend and I cannot get a remote connection to it for administering the license manager.  Any suggestions?

You need to Remove Remote Desktop Services Role you can then use the RDP connections.

Or you can use the  /admin switch with mstsc
In what mode the Remote Desktop Services were installed? Yes, by default you would get 2 Admin connections. If that was the trial period and you have not installed any application to work within the Remote Desktop than I would suggest to uninstall this ROLE and re-install it.

You need to purchase the CALs in future to run that in the Application mode.

Good Luck..!!
