hi

I would like to know how is my intrest rate decided when i am planing to buying a single family home in new jersey (hudson county).

One of the loan officer i spoke to says he can offer 4.125 intrest rate and says that has been the rate lately.

So do i call other mortgage offices and ask if they can give better rates ?

Any sugessions appreciated.

thanks

This should give you some ideas of general rates in your area. It seems like you could do better than 4.125%

The rate is one thing but also check on the fees you will have to pay.  These add mostly to the up front cost.  The location of the building can also be a factor.  Use a quality been in the business a while lender.
Look here and you see the state is New Jersey.
Enter the purpose, the loan amount, and the loan type and click on get rates.
