KVM over IP?

I've heard neat things about it where you can log on remotely and use it a device.

I just want to use it for home use.

Is there any good KVM over IP devices you would recommend based off personal use?

As side question is, is there any of these that can be used to turn on the computer? My motherboard doesn't have wake on lan.

There are devices out there that you can purchase to accomplish this, they are quite expensive and hard to justify for "home" use but if you've got the $ then I guess it's just a matter of ordering them.  I've used them in a radio station environment before.  You should also be able to find something that would act as a "remote" to turn on your machine.
Are you looking to remotely control it from inside your home or outside? From inside your home a product like StarTech's KVM over IP shop around and you can get it for under $300.

If you just want to be able to control your PC from anywhere. Use something like LogMeIn or another remote control software package. Most are free for home users.

I'm hoping to do it from outside, I'm currently running logmein, but the problem comes when I have my computer off.

So it's sounding like I should just get a mobo that supports wake on lan and use logmein, than spend the money on a kvm over ip

If you have any server machine then go for BMC, iLO, IPMI, IMM, DMRC.

But if you don't have such server machine then i suggest to go with raritan kvm it is cheap and good.

To restart the machine you should go with expensive IPKVM.
