I think the best free antivirus program is malwarebytes (malwarebytes.org). Download is 7 MB only. When the program is started please click the option button labeled with "Perform quick scan". After 9 minutes, your computer is checked by the anti virus program.

You can also "pause the scan" and "abort the scan" during the scan is running.

in my case I`d prefer ESET NOD32, currently you could use ESET Endpoint Security, which is free until beta period will expire.

Malwarebytes is a good removal tool.  AVG has a free version that works well to prevent spyware and viruses after removal.
I agree with vb_elmar, malwarebytes is a very powerful anti-virus program. However, you should always run more than 1 anti-virus as sometimes one will not catch everything. Another decent free one that you could run is AVG-Free.

A Trojan is a very common virus and (sometimes) can be removed with free programs. A Trojan is a keylogging virus and recognizes keystrokes to get sensitive information like passwords. So DO NOT perform any online banking on the infected computer until it is wiped clean from the malicious software. If you continue to have problems with this virus after several attempts to remove it using anti-virus software, I would suggest reformatting your computer. Re-installing your operating system will get rid of the virus.

Below are some directions to manually remove the virus.  Be carefull, any time you modify the registry you can make things worse.  So only do it if you feel comfortable and make a back up.

I would recommend that you try malewarebytes first.

Is there too much difference between Malwarebytes and BitDefender??
What do you think about Bit Defender?
I haven't used Bit Defender so I can't comment on that, however as I said before I highly suggest running multiple anti-virus programs so use them both. Also I remember when I had a virus on a previous computer the anti-virus program Hitman Pro caught something that the rest didn't. I would suggest giving Hitman Pro a try, it should be free.
