Change Windows Server Admin Password

Greetings,

I want to change the admin password for SBS 2011. Is there any special things that i need to do besides changing it in active directory? I dont want anything to break as a result of the password change.

only thing to ensure is that you update passwords for any services that you may have setup with Logon as administrator, as you will need to update the password on all these services. check your server services and sort by "Logon As".

Better still, create service accounts and replace the administrator account with the service account for any services you need running under a user account.  Then you won't have to worry about changing them again the next time you change the admin password.

One other possible side effect:
When you set up the server, the original administrator account password is used for DSRM (Directory Services Restore Mode). Changing the admin password will not update the DSRM password.  That is not a problem so long as you document it.  
You could also update it using ntdsutil or set it to sync with an administrator account:
