Hello,

one way:

- enter 0.9 into a cell
- copy that cell
- select your values
- use paste special and select "Multiply"
- Hit OK

Alternatively, calculate the reduced price in a helper column. If your data is in column A:

=A1*0.9

Copy down. Select the results, copy and use Paste Special - Values to paste over the original data. Then delete the helper column.

I have been away from excel for a whle - but here's what I'd do:

In an unused column put a formula (in essence) = .9 * pricecolumn.

Use fill down to propagate formula to all rows.

Select the column; copy; select the price column; paste special - values.

Reducing the price by 10% means multiplying it by 0.9

Enter 0.9 in any empty cell
select the cell and press ctrl-c (copy)
select all your column cells contaning the rate
right-click on the selection
select paste-special
Check the multiply option
OK

I need to decrease the price by 13% instead of 10% now.

but I enter : 0.13 in an empty cell, it doesn't give the right price.

What do I need to use here?  thanks

100 - 10 = 90
100 - 13 = 87
So you need to use 0.87 instead of 0.9
