Hi experts,

I am having no trouble doing a full image backup on SBS 2008 both to an eSATA 1 TB backup where the image application formats the drive. Each day, it says the backup is successful.I have also backed up to an NAS, and it states it was successful.

But, when I go to test the backup at least to the point where I can load it and boot into the DVD drive, when I get to the point where it is supposed to find the file, it can't. I then try to browse to the backup, and this is unsuccessful as well.

Any suggestions. I am pretty sure that the backup is being made.

Thank you.

What application are you using to create this image?

I have been using the native program on SBS 2008.

I then tried using Backup Assist.

Thanks for the help.

Have you tried backing up on a local drive?

That's a good point. I think I will try that. I have had success in the past with the eSATA. Of course, it completely formats the drive, correct?

Then I would have to add another hard drive.

Your eSata drive has a normal hard drive inside, if you don't mind you can open that use it. Else get a new one.
