SQL Express 2008: grant rights to user

Hi,

I have setup a SQL 2008 Express server on which I created a database.
When I want to connect remotely (locally it works fine), it doesn't want to connect (tcp/ip, shared memory, named pipes are enabled).

If I look in the security , users section of the database, I don't see the user which I 'm connecting with but I cannot add it either because it is a member of the general security groups (security, logins).

Please advise how to troubleshoot.

J.

Microsoft article is for 2005, not 2008 ... don't find this setting for 2008.
