Private LUNs are ones that can not be associated with a storage group directly. Instead they are related to some other function like a group of LUNs joined together to form a metaLUN.

Thank you,  it means hosts can't use private luns for their operation. Private lun only uses for Meta lun?, but meta lun  uses by host, sorry I'm confused.
Say you create a LUN and assign it to a host. You later want to add space to that LUN. You do this by creating another LUN and joining the two together in a metaLUN. The individual LUNs can no longer be assigned to a host at their original size. Only the new larger metaLUN that is a combination of the two can be assigned. So you then assign the metaLUN to the storage group that will connect to the host, not the individual, now, private LUNs.

For an example if I have LUN 1 with 20 GB and if I want to add more space to Lun1, the only way is create another LUN (like Lun2), and  join together and presented to the host? Am I right? In this case host will use Lun 1, but it can see the additional  space? Am I right? host doesn't know about the lun 2 which we created and merged with lun1
Yes, you are basically expanding one LUN by joining other LUNs, this makes all the LUNs private. The big LUN will be in LUN Folders under MetaLUNs.
