Windows 2003 Cluster

my customer has 2k3 cluster for file service. the cluster has 3 harddisk for file sharing...
recently when i do a failover from node 2 to node 1, all clustered application service able to failed over but it failback to node 2 less than 5 mins.

i found 1 of the erroc logged at event viewer.
"Cluster File Share resource 'CommServeDR' has failed a status check. The error code is 53."

i have checked both cluster used .dll file are same. drive letter same as well.

there is no issue for cluster group.

It would seem Node 1 has a problem accessing or starting the CommServeDR resource.  Not knowing what that is, it's difficult to say how to fix it.  

If it's an external device, you might make sure Node 1 has a good physical connection.  If it's software, you might try re-installing it on Node 1.

all clustered resources are sitting at san drive. edvict and re-add to cluster will help..?
ComServeDR just 1 of few services at that cluster..

Can you start the ComServeDR sevice when Node 1 doesn't own the cluster?  Do you get any error messages about that service when it tries to start?

is owned by node 2..

The cluster resource may be owned by Node 2, but if it exists as a service (something installed) on Node 1, you should be able to start it outside the Cluster Manager.

will crash the service for both? fyi, when i swing over the cluster resources to node 1, all can online for less than 1 minute then automaic failed back to node 2. there is no failback configured

You should be able to start the ComServeDR sevice - outside of the Cluster Manager - without affecting Node 2.
