When I installed VS 2010 the first time I only chose VB as the language.
Id like to ass C# as another language. will I lose my project/web files if I reinstall VS again so I can add the C# language? What should you recommend  as steps?

You shouldn't. But it if made you feel safer you could copy the Projects folder under [Your Documents]\Visual Studio 2010. You might also prefer:  http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/6k364a7k(v=vs.90).aspx

You do not have to reinstall VS.

You If you go in the Control Panel, under Programs and Features (or the equivalent, depending on your version of Windows), right click on the Visual Studio 2010 entry, you will have an option to Uninstall / Change. This triggers something very similar to the intallation, but if you look at the title of the Window, you will see that it is called Maintenance Mode.

It will run for a minute or two to load the necessary components, and you will then be offered a set of options where there is a Add or Remove features selection. Using it will enable to install extra features, thus C#, without doing anything to your previous installation unless you uncheck one of the installed components. I have used it a few times without having any problem.

But even if you were to reinstall or uninstal, the installer plays only with its own files. It will never touch your files.

Yes.

But don't you make a regular backup of your source code anyway? :-)

It's asking for a disk installation 1?

If you installed from disks, and specially if you add a new feature that was not installed the first time, yes, you will have to provide the disk.
