Microsoft Loopback adapter issue

I'm having issues with Microsoft Loopback adapter as far as getting a valid IP address.  I presently have it to DHCP and can't seem to get a valid IP address I get 169.254....I've tried it both at home and at a hotspot.

It is, but I'm still having issues.  Physically how I'm I supposed to be connected?  Maybe this is the error.
So, you are now connected via your WIRELESS adapter?
