Is this for remote desktop or a path?  You can use \\server name\path for a path on the server.  For remote desktop, click on options and save it.  From windows explorer right click on the path and go to the desktop then right click and paste shortcut

Ok the user needs to be able to pull files off of the server to use on her cpu so I assume I need a path if so how do I go about making it?
Access the path on the server by clicking on start then run then enter \\servername\c$\remaining path.  c$ is for the drive, so if the drive is d then its d$.  Once open, go up a directory right click on the folder, then click copy then go back to the user's desktop then right click then paste shortcut.
