Can't move webpart in SP 2010

For some odd reason, I can't move a webpart to another part of the page.

I followed this post (http://sharepoint.microsoft.com/Blogs/GetThePoint/Lists/Posts/Post.aspx?ID=506) but still could not move the webpart.

Any ideas?

It was easy to do in SP2007

Hello,

how about zooming out of the web page until you can see the area where you want the web part to go and then drag it into place?

Does that happen just for this page? Just for this web part? It would be great to have a little bit more information to work with.

Can you drag other web parts around on that page?
Can you create a new web part page and drag web parts around on that new page?
Can you add the problem web part to the new page and drag it around there?
What kind of web part is it? Out of the box? Which one? Custom?

The goals of this is to try and narrow down where the problem lies, i.e. the page or the web part.

it's a web part page that's out of the box.  I can't drag anything on any webpart page.
The only way I can move webparts is by messing with the Zone index.

Strange.

Just to make sure I understand the problem correctly:

You are using SharePoint 2010
You are editing a Web Part Page.
You can not drag any web part to another web part zone by clicking the web part's title pane and dragging?

Is that correct?

If so, it's a most unusual behaviour. You should be able to click and drag web parts by clicking the web part't title bar. That goes for both SharePoint WSS3, MOSS and 2010. If that is not working for you, there's something fundamentally wrong with your setup and a clean, best practice re-install might be in order.

Thanks for all your help teylyn!

Unfortunately, install was done by a 3rd party.
It is weird.  I can move webparts when using office 365.

Just on a hunch: what browser are you using? Can you drag web parts when you use Internet Explorer?
