Remote App Printers Issue

Hello,

I have a newly installed 2008 R2 server installed and setup as a terminal server.  This works fine and when users connect to the terminal server via an rdp session, as long as they tick the printers box in rdp options, they get their list of printers showing on the server as redirected as normal.

If users run the remoteapp on the same server then no redirected printers show up when you try to print in the app.  I have tested wordpad and a number of other apps and no remoteapp programs are showing printers lists.

In remoteapp manager, the RDP Settings page has printers ticked and allowed.  RDP Gateway Manager also has the default policies in place which both appear to allow printing.  So im lost as to what is stopping the printing.

In ADUC the user has printers allowed.  Using it as a terminal server works fine.. i must be missing something with the remoteapp system.  Any ideas?

Thanks

Is your Terminal Server also a DC, if yes, go directly to:

Hello,

No this isnt a DC.

I have run the SC command and I get:
C:\>sc sdshow spooler

D:(A;;CCLCSWLOCRRC;;;AU)(A;;CCDCLCSWRPWPDTLOCRSDRCWDWO;;;BA)(A;;CCLCSWRPWPDTLOCR
RC;;;SY)S:(AU;FA;CCDCLCSWRPWPDTLOCRSDRCWDWO;;;WD)

C:\>

As far as I can see the start bit is there, so isnt this already okay?

Still no joy printing if anyone has any ideas?

Thanks
