Cisco call Manager routing calls

i currently have Cisco unified call manager 8.0 and i would like to take the ability for certain lines to be able to be reached by external numbers but not from internal numbers ....I  want to force people to call the main line (receptionist) and the receptionist to transfer the call to the correct extension ......how could i accomplish this ???

Without knowing your complete dial-plan it's hard to say exactly.

My first thought would be you could put these extensions in a partition that only the reciptionists calling search space can reach.

bfason is right on the money. The way to accomplish this is by assigning numbers to specific partitions, then create different calling search spaces for the gateway (incoming calls) and for the internal phones, and for the receptionist
Here's a good primer on partitions and CSS. The example is on very old version of CallManager, but the concepts are the same even for 8.0
