I am looking for some good resource such as excellent articles/PDFs/PPTs/Whitepapers on Performance improvement techniques for SQL server, C#, ASP.NET, WCF and .NET. They should be teach me with PRACTICAL examples.

The trace tools and how to use them efficiently would be greatful.

Please do provide them if you REALLY use them in your day to day activity.

Please do avoid simply googling and sending the link.

Always start with SQL Server Books On Line.

I find BOL is very helpful.  (Then, if I need more, I will go out to Google or here to EE with a specific question.)

I've been doing this for a long time, and I find BOL can give very in depth info on what you need.  It's really good.

For SQL I suggest to use:

Tutorial: Database Engine Tuning Advisor
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms166575.aspx

And SQL own Performance Dashboard Reports:

2005 - http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?id=22602
2008 - http://blogs.technet.com/b/rob/archive/2009/02/18/performance-dashboard-reports-for-sql-server-2008.aspx
2012 - http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?id=29063

For .NET:
Improving .NET Application Performance and Scalability
PDF - http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?id=11711

And obviously I'm using them on a daily basis in a SQL (plus ORACLE/Postgres/MySQL) database cluster behind a busy 24/7 ecommenre website.
Looking for .NET, C# as well.

Definitely learn how to use the "execution plan" to analyze individual queries for performance tuning. It may be the single best tool when trying to improve the performance of individual queries
Thanks.
