Word 2011 for Mac opens with debug c=scren

For one user on a iMac, the MS Word 2011 opens anything and goes right into a debug screen. Error says Compile Error: Method or data member not found. I can close the debug down and work on the doc, but it happens anytime I open the program or start a new doc.

I've deleted the Normal.dotm and it recreates a new one.

If I go online and open a new file based on an internet-based template i don't get the debug screen

IMac is i5 CPU running 10.7.3

In Windows, that would mean a problem with a macro or an add-in. There can be global templates apart from the Normal template.

See if this helps you to check:

ASKER

I will try that later this week. I think I can get away with deprciating this user account and creating a new one. As the problem is only reported to happen for a single user.

Solved by creating new account and stopped using the old one.
Thanks. That information is likely to be useful if others have a similar problem.
