force client options in rsyncd

without modifying rsync client configuration, how can I force all incoming client connections to use the --inplace option?

In other words, I want rsyncd to treat every incoming connection as though --inplace has been specified by the client.

Sorry you have to specify that with EVERY rsync invocation at the client side.
--inplace is a unknown option when you start a daemon.
And it cannot be specified with the rsyncd.conf either.

--inplace isn't exactly a harmless option so i understand why it is not a default.
Also as the source to rsync is available, you may be able create your own version which runs with inplace as default option.

And maybe a request with the creator (Andrew Tridgell from the Samba team) might add this option to future versions?
