Proxy Server for Exchange
I have got Exchange Server 2010 installed on an SBS standard 2011 server. I want to use the outlook anywhere service so that all the clients which are not on the same domain or on the same LAN could use exchange server mailbox. In order to perform that i have to fill in a proxy server address in the settings of the exchange server. Do i have to install a proxy server first on my server??? If yes then how could i install and configure the proxy server.
Thanks

Can i get a bit more explained configuration plz?
First thing now, outlook anywhere required multiple records to work properly, like autodiscover.domain.com, mail.domain.com specifically. But still you can create multinamed self-sign -Certificate too. But look at 2 important points
1. Security reasons as self signed certificates are less secured then other certificate.
2. You need to installed self signed certificate on all clients machines where you want to use Outlook anywhere feature.
Also for more info Please look at this link.

I understand the importance of signed certificate. But as this is the initial stage of network i have not got more than 5 PCs to install the self signed certificate on so i guess i will go with that for now. Could you please explain the process of setting it up.

What should i put in external hostname?
Now this is important. it should be your external URL, like mail.domain.com which you use to access OWA from internet.
This name should be present on your self sign certificate.

On the client PC, i keep on getting the same error message as below :
There is a problem with the proxy server's security certificate, %s. The security certificate is not from a trusted certifying authority. Outlook is unable to connect to this server. (%s)"
