smtp error 550

Hi experts

Im getting the following error when sending to a few different domains

#5.5.0 smtp;550 <shop@betterfood.local>: Sender address rejected: Domain not found

Im running exchange on a sbs 2003 server. I have a reverse dns setup with the ISP

I can email the problem domains from a differnt mail server with no issues.

I can have a telnet conversion with the recipent mail server with no errors.

The only thing ive not setup is a PTR record but im not sure how to do this. maybe this should be setup by the isp as they have setup the reverse dns record.

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Thanks

DNS issue, verify the settings with your ISP (mx, A and reverse)

thanks, e-tream, we look after the dns through dns made easy, we have a c and mx records setup correctly. No PTR configured though, but as I say maybe this should be done by the isp as they control the reverse dns record.
