ASP.NET - Making a label fade after a few seconds

Hello Experts,

I'm using the following code to make a error label disappear after a few seconds.  It works great, but I'd like to tweak it so that the text fades instead of disappearing abruptly.

ScriptManager.RegisterClientScriptBlock(Me.Page, Me.GetType, "script", "window.setTimeout(function() { document.getElementById('" + lblError1.ClientID + "').style.display = 'none' },4000);", True)

Open in new window

I'd prefer to modify the above code as opposed to an entirely different solution since the many other methods I've tried failed miserably, and this method is the closest I've gotten.

Thanks!
