Thunderbird 11: some emails are not displaying html emails
Hi,
I'm just having a strange problem. Thunderbird 11 are displaying some emails as html code rather than rendering it properly. But not all emails of this particular account. Most emails are displaying only html emails but a few are displaying it properly. I don't think I touched any settings. It was fine this morning. Is this a bug or something?

You're sure that the email was properly formatted when it was sent? What happens if you forward the message to another account and view it (either with a different email client, or online)?

I suspect something is corrupted in Thunderbird 11. I think it is a bug that does not occur frequently. I cleared my caches and everything and rebooted. But, nevertheless, a whole bunch of emails are corrupted from emails sent from ebay, facebook, GodTube, and whole bunch of others from last night to about last week (so last 7 days). I forwarded a corrupt one to my gmail and it's showing up fine. So this seems to be a corruption/bug in Thunderbird 11.0.1.
Do you know of a workaround other than forwarding my last 7 days emails to another email account?

Have you set Thunderbird as your default mail client?Is firefox or internet explorer set as a default?

I agree that this sounds like corruption or a bug, given that the emails look fine when viewed elsewhere. You might want to try uninstalling and reinstalling. Since the email looks OK when forwarded, it suggests that the actual message information isn't corrupted; it's just a problem with the application processing it.

Yes, TB is my default email client. FF12 is my default browser. I don't think that's the problem though or I can't see how it relates though.
I'll try reinstalling. TB upgraded from 11.0.1 to 12 now but the problem is the same. Perhaps, I'll try installing from the exe file.
Strange. The subject line and from and to is not displaying for the preview but it's showing up in the top portion of the window in TB. All of April 20, 2012 to April 26, 2012 are corrupt like the picture shows.

What antivirus do you use.Try disabling resident shield and try again.

Norton 360. Do you think that has something to do with it? But then why only the weeks worth of emails corrupted? Been using Norton for a little while now (5 years). I want to switch but I'm a bit reticent because I had a bad experience with another antivirus program. Norton seems to be doing okay and I've never had a virus or malware or anything. It can consume a bit of resources though. Sometimes a lot.
