Resetting 3com switch
Hi experts
I received 3com 2928 baseline switch that has ip configured and I can not login to the web console. I want to deploy it soon but I need to reset it to factory default.
Can you please tell me how to reset it?
I am not able to find a reset button also.

There should be a small hole in the back or front of the switch. this is the reset hole. Normally, you indert a pin or tip of a pen in that hole for 15 seconds. If this dowes not reset the switch with it unplugged, try plugging the switch in and try it.
On most switches and routers, you plug in the device, insert the tip of a pen or other short pointed object (to press the reset button) and yor device resets to original factiry settings.
Note: When this process compoletes, all the setings that are in the device now are reset to factory settings.

I resolved it myself by doing some hands on on the switch itself. I thought anyone who is good in switches will figure this out but as usual I come with my own solutions.
Found this article (which is 8 years old) and I gotta say, SR Zak sounds like an egotistical prick.
2. Press and hold in the recovery button on the rear panel of the Switch using a pointed tool, and then turn on the Switch.
3. After at least 5 seconds, or when the LED flashes, release the recovery button. The Switch will now enter fail safe mode, whereby the Switch’s IP address, user name and password will be reset to the factory defaults.
4 Click on the RESTART THE SWITCH button.
